Online Multiplayer Patch For VF5 PS3? Maybe Someday. >
2007/08/30 0:50:29: Posted by DM
Gamers have been disappointed ever since it was revealed that the Xbox360 verison of Virtua Fighter 5 will have online head to head play, and the PS3 version will not. Many of us speculated this was due to Sega and Sony's non-knowledge of the PSN network, but it seems it was just because Sega's main priority was getting the game from Arcade to home ASAP. AM2 Assistant Manager Tohru Murayama at Total Video Games, has said that a patch to play head-to-head VF5 matches on the PS3 is indeed possible, although it will be a while if ever.

my brother will probably be happy as hell if that happens, but I doubt it

Yeah, when a console has a hard drive and access to the Internet, there is no doubt that a "patch," could potentially solve any problem...the question is, will the developers do it. It would really take a super long time for Sega to implement such a feature, and it would take up a LOT of space on the PS3...heck, the current VF5 requires 2GB of space on the PS3 hard drive to use, and it doesn't even have an online mode! That is something the owners of 20GB PS3 hard drives aren't happy with.

If I was Sega, I would worry about fixing the poor problems with Artificial Intelligence in the Playstation 3 version...IF that can be fixed.

i never thought that Krogan would look at this negativly, wow.

i wonder how it would take up alot of space on the hard drive to implement such a feature. for instance, Rainbow Six Vegas only has 114kb of system data on my PS3 and it goes online. same with Motorstorm. all that data you talk about for VF5 is probably mostly from the quest mode.

sticky, regardless of any news, Urdnot always has a way of making it seem bad. thats what i DONT like about him. he's just pissed cuz he's soon not going to be able to say 'VF5 has online mode only on 360' =)
Written by sticky on 2007/08/30

incoming, the reason why he said it would be big on the hard drive is cos motorstorm and rainbow six have all the online framework information on the disc. we are assuming that VF5 doesnt have this info on the disc meaning that the online component will need to be downloaded to the hard drive. it may take up a lot of space but maybe not, i think to assume that it will take up a LOT of room is being a bit of a dick. anyone who has installed gamespy will tell you that it doesnt take up that much room, certainly not as much as some of the demos that are kicking around these days, and im sure that anyone that owns VF5 will be glad to install whatever it takes to get that bad boy online.

incoming, yeah i feel sorry for the guy, it must suck having a mind that works that way. lets all give him a hug!!!

Sticky: I'm not hugging anybody. I say let everyone speak their opinion. We can all agree to disagree. This site is tame compared to N4G. I have never seen so many insecure, Sony fanboys gather in 1 place on the world wide web to circle jerk each other whenever the PS3 gets good news. They had guys posting game reviews from Poland. Sales statistics from Denmark, and then they dissed PSM because it gat Heavenly sword an unfavorable review. Thats some serious NuttHuggery there. I lve the 360 and PS3 for the MSRP of $399.00 or lower. No videogame experience is worth more than that. It owuld be nice if PS3 did get online though. I aint mad!!!

um no krogan, your wrong on the vf5 memory on the ps3. i have the game and it's 2500KB,s of space on the hard drive. That's two and a half MB's not GB's you tool.
Written by incoming00 on 2007/08/31

@kungfurabbit - first... love the name!

second - he's right, the data is over 2GB. i thought it was only 2500KB too, but then i looked into the game data and found the 2.4GB file

@ incoming00

oh ok thanx.

@ krogan sorry for the mix up. i'm just getting tired of you putting ps3 down.
Written by incoming00 on 2007/09/03

@ kungfurabbit(still getting a laugh at the name)

no matter what the news, urdnot will find some way to putting it down. like if Sony announced that for every PSN download you would get a visit from 4 hot latin chicks for your every pleasure, he'll prolly turn it around a say, 'why dont the chicks take anal?! and why latin? why not white or black or asian?! its just another one of Sony's lies!' you get my point. in urdnot eyes, there is no such thing as good news in Sony's camp

disclaimer: most of what i said about the women from Sony is just BS. i have no idea what Urnots preference is in women, in general, if any, nor do i care. it was made for example only seeing that its still early in the day and i can barely make a thought right now.
