Rare Denies Rumors Banjo Kazooie Cancelled >
2007/11/12 8:19:53: Posted by DM
A source at the UK development office of Rare has revealed to GI that Banjo Kazooie is not cancelled, despite rumors to that effect on the net. The rumors stated that development on a major, first-party, MS title had been stopped, but even if that were true, said the source, it is not Banjo. Good to hear.

Its funny how zealots will be hyped for this game when its an almost certainty they were calling it a kiddy game back in the n64 days.

Regardless of that fact, it will never live up to the original since it takes more than just a 'graphical upgrade' to make a game decent. Considering that rare are a shell of their former selves, i dont see any real creativity being poured into this title if it does, in fact, come to fruition.

Rare is AWESOME!!!

Perfect Dark Zero won more Awards than any Playstation 3 game did.

And Viva Piniata won a ton of Awards for for Original Gameplay.

Kameo: Elements of Power is an awesome Platform game tha has sold a lot more copies than anything on the PS3.

NUFF SAID!

urdnot, what does all that have anything to do with Banjo Kazooie? i think Banjo Kazooie is an awsome game and have been a fan since its N64 days. but the news is about a game not being cancelled, not about how Rare sucks. and no one here bashed Banjo Kazooie.

Response to incoming00:

I have said this countless times, but if someone decides to aggressively say something rude or immature, then I will counter that statement.

The reason why I ended up comparing the Awards that Rare has earned with great games like Perfect Dark Zero and Viva Piniata is because tr1p1ea made a negative comment about Rare that is simply not true.

Our friend, tr1p1ea, seems to have forgotten that Rare originally created Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo as Gamecube games, then original Xbox games, then Xbox 360 launch games using Pre-Alpha Development Kits that had access to only one-sixth of the General Purpose CPU Power...if Rare seemed like "only a shadow of their former selves" to him, then that is the OBVIOUS reason why.

When we see Perfect Dark 2, then THAT is when we can see what Rare is truly made of!

But Viva Piniata was AWESOME, and it won a LOT of Awards because of its original gameplay. If you don't like the Viva Piniata show, then that is up to you...but, there are a LOT of people who do, which means that Viva Piniata SUCCESSFULLY provided consumers with a game in that Genre--something that the Playstation 3 has NOT done!

Response to blacktiger:

I do NOT like game systems with inferior hardware on virtually every multi-player game, especially when the system has very few exlusive games worth buying. Thus, it is logical to conclude that I do not like the Playstation 3, because it meets the disappointing requirements I described above. In all honesty, I regret wasting money on the Playstation 3, because I almost never play it. Whenever a game is released on both systems, I always buy the Xbox 360 version, because the Xbox 360 versions are almost always rated higher, offer better graphics, and vastly superior online play.

In the past, the Xbox 360 version of Oblivion was rated higher than the PS3 version, but some of the PS3 fanboys claimed the PS3 version was better because it included a newer form of Software Shader program when it was released a year after the Xbox 360 version.

HOWEVER, now that Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition has been released, with the updated Software Shader program included with the Xbox 360 version (and available for download on Xbox Live to previous owners of the original Oblivion), there is NO DOUBT that the Xbox 360 version of Oblivion is superior in EVERY measurable way!
