According to IGN, the multiplayer chat feature for the upcoming Wii installment of Mario Kart has been implemented, but it is not what we want to hear. The game will not feature voice chat at all, and text chat will be featured but not in-game. On top of this, there will only be a number of pre-determined phrases that players can send in order to communicate with other players in the pre-race rooms that are created. Nintendo is really giving us the bare minimum on this one, may be that they are not 100% sure the online MP support is ready to go. Stay tuned.
