What happened to all the great media like videos and demos we were supposed to get through Xbox Live? Quite frankly, the TGS representation through live sucked!
Written by bob (262) on 2006/09/24

Yep, major suckage. I'm guessing MS saved the best for X06 where it's all about the Xbox 360.
Written by whYte420 (99) on 2006/09/24

You think they'd save there best for Japan... oh well lets wait for X06, fuck japan.

if japan is going to disrespect us by not supporting a good american made machine such as the xbox360 then i think tha twe should show them the same disrespect towards their machines. buy an xbox360 and keep the money here in america.

I still think the nuclear attacks from WWII has somthing to do with it.....

Umm this is only 650 people and there was a LOT of interest in the 360 at TGS.

People were going crazy over blue dragon, crazy over lost odyssey, there was significant interest in Lost Planet. The 650 that bothered with a survey most likely doesn't account for the thousands of people that were online for more than 2 hours waiting to play Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey.

Oh nevermind they said 650 titles?

Either way the lines were packed for the 360 titles I listed.

Yeah, And Im going to drive a ford too, Cause.. Well.. Ya know, Honda's are made in japan, STICK IT TO THE MAN YEAH!!! *Rolls Eyes*.
Written by Odins_wrath (153) on 2006/09/25

Dont get your panties in a twist. i dont see how everyone blames japan's people because 650 random people picked mostly PS games. its practically there show Nintendo wasnt even there. .

Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey? It cannot enter that the people gathered most in Xbox360 with THE iDOLM@STER more than waiting by three hours.

DMC4 gathers most by the people and waits for four hours in PS3.

The people cannot enter MHP2 in PSP and gather, wait for four hours or enter most.

Xbox360 of Japan is already dead. It doesn't change even if Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey is sold. Make the president of the Xbox business a Japanese if Xbox360 thinks that it wants you to sell more in Japan, and make the headquarters Japan.
Written by TGS (2) on 2006/09/25

Mistake.

:The people cannot enter MHP2 in PSP and gather, wait for four hours or enter most.

It is not possible to enter from waiting by five hours.

Written by optaviusx on 2006/09/25

TGS what in the hell are you even attempting to say?

Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey had huge lines at TGS and 360 already dead in japan? Thats funny considering neither the wii nor the ps3 is released yet and at worst is when both do launch they started on even position as far as market share goes. Wii until it releases has a 0 marketshare ps3 until it releases in japan also has a 0 marketshare. It isn't too late for the 360 because a game like Blue Dragon arrives just in time.

Not only that Lost Planet was received surprisingly well.

Translation from the page.

"Regarding the Xbox 360 platform, the line of the long snake was completed with the Microsoft booth, the “blue dragon” and the “lost planet” are chosen. Especially, the “lost planet” is observed, height of the degree of completion gains popularity even at the meeting place. Although rice plant boat Keiji “worldwide standard being the work, the Japanese good quality is displayed. With the shooter game which is worldwide popularity genre, global by the robot which represents Japan you have aimed toward the work. We want enjoying the online game which it can participate to 16 people in the appearance impression of the next generation machine”, that it appealed."

The lines were huge for blue dragon as they mention.

Also what people seem to be confused by is one thing.. the Xbox 360 DOES NOT need to beat the ps3 or wii in japan just because it wont do that doesn't make it dead in japan, but with games like blue dragon, lost odyssey infinite undiscovery it certainly wont be a failure.. far from it.

Just wait and see how well Sakaguchi's games do :)

optaviusx, it says out of 650 TITLES not attendees, I posted again in that thread. Also how do people send gamersreports.com tips?

Oh lol sorry I read your correction.

You are still going on about how long the lines were? Okay it’s your opinion that the lines indicate a great success, but this seems to indicate that there was a lot more positive reviews for other titles.

Like I said before, big lines means big interest, but how did they feel AFTER actually trying the product out? There’s a difference between interests, and thinking something is actually good. This is a lot better way to see what attendees actually felt. I mean what you read from sites tells you what they THINK people felt like, or from the sample data they CHOSE. This shows us EXACTLY what they liked, and sorry, lost oddessy was not their. This means more than anything IGN, or GameSpot could say. This is FACT; it’s the way we know exactly what the majority of people think.

Reading a site telling you that it was the best thing, and now seeing an actual poll of the data is completely different. Example is that it’s possible that more people liked John Kerry, many people thought he would win, but what happened, in the actual VOTES, yes the actual way to judge who people wanted for president, George bush won a 2nd election. That is rea datal; hearing/reading a site saying lost oddessy was loved by all/ John Kerry will win the election no problems, is 2 different things.

I would like to say I’m from the UK and so this perception I got from UK tv. And this in no way shows my political affiliation (I have none, I’m not even old enough to vote)

Look at the Sugar-coating comments being posted here... making out as if it was all gravy...

Xbox360 was well timid and dull at the show...nothing really to excite anyone...

PS3 launch titles and games to be released within a year of release Look Great...looking forward to play them...
Written by optaviusx on 2006/09/25

Let me know when you wake up out of that dream cyrix :)

The G so becase lost odyssey wasn't on the list you're assuming they didn't like it or showed no interest in it? I'm sorry, but you are well mistaken because lost odyssey was easily one of the more impressive things at the show, but it wasn't as polished as the other things it was only 40% complete (which attendees at the show knew because it was shown right there in front of them) I checked couple a good number of japanese websites and A LOT of them were impressed by Lost Odyssey and are dying to see the game in more complete form. Considering lost odyssey was missing 2 key aspects of its gameplay.. and you could ONLY use your sword it still managed to impress enough at the show and I like the way they judged it would've been wrong putting lost odyssey on the list simply because it looked incredible it had to play like that too.

Hamamura : Looks like its battle system is almost done as well.

Sakaguchi : No, this is pretty basic one. In this Demo version, we didn't implement two of key features,

character's "growing"(he didn't say LvLing) and "control-able".

Hamamura : Interesting. How it works?

Sakaguchi : Pardon?(Laugh)

Hamamura : c'mon

Sakaguchi : I can reveal only about "growing" though. Well there are some other guys who can't die like Kaim but will join your party.

In opposit there are "normal" people who can join your party as well. When "normal" members are dying "abnormal" members have choice to merge their "ability" or not

He didn't even reveal what he means by controllable Lost Odyssey is a killer app just waiting to be finished and with sakaguchi's skills its going to be done the best way possible.

Blue Dragon didn't show any earlier than TGS because they wanted to show it in more complete form, but Lost Odyssey they decided to give people a small taste (which is exactly what that demo was a small taste) Just wait till when sakaguchi drops a more complete version of the game ;D

Time will tell no doubt, lost oddessy has potential no denying that.

My point though wasnt what sites think though, its what the attendees think. Ive read alot of sites and most were happy with what they saw, however what did normal japanse consumers feel? this is ONE (not the only) way to tell how they feel...........

Thats all im saying.

Guys, calm down, the Tokyo Game Show coverage was not as good as the Electronic Entertainment Expo for two reasons: (1) That show is not as important as the E3, (2) The TGS was focused on Japanese products.

Personally, I did like the way Microsoft handled things with the coverage of the Tokyo Game Show on Xbox Live Arcade. Obviously, it wasn't as good as the E3 coverage, but again, that is simply because there wasn't as much to report on. I sure was happy that Microsoft gave us a game demo of Fusion Frenzy 2 from the TGS. Fusion Frenzy 2 is AWESOME!!!

Here is a great hyperlink that reports on what all of the major players showed at the Tokyo Game Show. This is a pretty long article--9 pages: next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3867&Itemid=2

I can't wait for the X06 Trade Show. I bet THAT is the one where Microsoft reveals all of their BIG secrets and tells us a LOT of surprises that we are thankful for!

The website listed by Gamers Reports points out that both Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey were award winners for the Xbox 360 at the Tokyo Game Show. That agrees with what Microsoft was hoping for, perfectly!
