MGS4 Rumor Mill: Konami Fixes Trailer & Removes PS3 Logo? >
2007/06/07 11:40:29: Posted by DM
There is so much news in this rumor category, we are tempted to start a completely separate heading just for Metal Gear Solid 4 multi-platform rumors. Be that as it may though, the rumor today comes from News4gamers. N4G is reporting that Konami has apparently removed the Playstation logo from the most recent MGS4 trailer. The trailer was originally re-released to tweak some visual bugs, but it has unintentionally whipped up our community into a tizzy. Stay tuned, and "super rumor" mill for now(Thanks, WeeWee).

The trailer was released on Konami's new Metal Gear 20th Anniversary website, and has quite a few noticeable differences between the original trailer which was released at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2006. The most striking of these differences is the removal of the Playstation 3 logo during the final credits, leading some gamers to believe that the game is no longer exclusive for the Playstation 3 platform. The Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer shown at the Tokyo Games Show also had its Playstation logo removed, which may indicate a pattern of change since E3 last year.

It was only a matter of time before someone hinted at this coming to the 360 again. I'm so tired of this now.

There's a guy at Destructoid with connections to MS and he said the deal is sealed between them and Konami for MGS4. My guess is that they removed the logo at the request of MS, which can only mean one thing: for many people, there's no good reason to buy PS3 anymore =P

And did anyone else notice Meryl's wardrobe malfunction at around the 9:00 mark?

Regardless of who "redesigned" this presentation, the point is that it isn't presented as a PS3 exclusive the way it previously was.

This isn't a surprise, though. People have known for ages that Metal Gear Solid 4 would be released for the Xbox 360.

Just like with Devil May Cry 4, Unreal Tournament 3, Mercs 2, Assassins Creed, Fight Night Round 3, Virtua Fighter 5...the list goes on and on.

GamesRadar has spoken to Konami, who informed them that the trailer which appeared on a new MGS site this morning is definitely not new. Konami stressed to GamesRadar that it has not released any new footage, and that we won't see anything of MGS4 until E3 2007 in August.

theres an update on the link

Wow, in this remastered version there are no framedrops at all ....

the overall framerate is better and the places like:

- where snake battles the first metal gear thing (it was like 8 fps but now it's completely smooth)

- the part where you see snake surrounded by flowers on the graveyard

- the part where raiden uses the gun of the metal gear thing to shoot the other where the camera zooms in.

Or, are these things looking to shape up because it's not running on the ps3 engine this time :o

"edit Ps3 engine = ps3 hardware"
