GT Prologue NA Soundtrack Features Weezer, Mars Volta, More >
2008/03/26 15:33:04: Posted by DM
The soundtrack for the upcoming Gran Turismo Prologue half-game is filled with popular acts. Sony's access to their music division ensures this will always be so, and they have brought in some big guns to compensate for the lack of games on the PS3, we suppose. Weezer, Mars Volta, DJ Shadow, and more will be exclusive to the North American release of the game. Good to hear we are getting something extra over here. Click read more for the full info.

PRESS RELEASE

FOSTER CITY, Calif., March 25, 2008 – Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. (SCEA) announced today the North American soundtrack for Gran Turismo™5 Prologue, the fifth installment of the billion-dollar selling racing franchise developed exclusively for PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) by Polyphony Digital Inc. The official Gran Turismo 5 Prologue soundtrack is headlined by an in-game exclusive remix of Weezer’s “Automatic,” from the band’s upcoming album and an EL-P remix of Mars Volta’s “Goliath.” The soundtrack will provide North American racing fans with a High Definition (HD) audio experience to complement Gran Turismo 5 Prologue’s stunning Full HD visuals, and furthers Sony Computer Entertainment’s commitment to providing an intermix of entertainment, music and games.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue features an edgy soundtrack that mixes an aesthetic audio blending of indie dance rock, electronica, classic rock and brand new remixes by some of today’s hottest recording artists such as Weezer, Mars Volta and DJ Shadow, among others. The Gran Turismo 5 Prologue soundtrack enhances an already comprehensive driving experience, and it builds on the historic success of past Gran Turismo soundtracks that have featured original scores and licensed tracks from the biggest names in the recording industry.
“The Gran Turismo 5 Prologue soundtrack gives fans the perfect audio accompaniment to high-octane racing from Daytona to Eiger Nordwand,” said Jeff Reese, director, software marketing, SCEA. “The edgy variety of music complements the pure adrenaline rush fans experience as they eclipse 200 miles-per-hour in the most authentic driving simulator around.”

The North American version of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue’s soundtrack offers fans a dozen exclusive singles from some of today’s hottest new artist such as Justice, The Klaxons and Friendly Fires, and pulses with new tracks such as “Love Love” made famous by Jimi Hendrix and interpolated by DJ Shadow, a pioneer in instrumental hip-hop and famed producer. In addition to the exclusive North American tracks and a new version of Gran Turismo theme song “Moon Over The Castle,” the soundtrack offers an international flare of recordings from Goose, Alloy Mental, naomee, Daiki Kasho and Nittoku Inoue.

Lack of complete games? wha?

Just hope there is no mandatory pre-install.

I seen a new slogan for the PS3.

Pay more.

Play less.

Pre-install Beyond.

Pure genious.

Graphics for this game look tight as hell though. Too bad looks arent everthing. Unless were talking bout Dudeman's mom again. Damn she is MilfTastic.

preinstall in not a defacto standard with ps3 games. I just bought 2 games..Condemned 2 and Viking and neither had installs. Also Uncharted did not either.

dudeman: Just bustin your balls bro. Just like RROD is not the defacto standard for the 360, yet all you PS3 fanboys claim otherwise. Think on that for a sec. Missed you on FlamingWars honey... Whats your mom making me for dinner tonight???

^^^is this guy serious? dude your comments are not even funny, just plain immature and annoying

MASTERJ0J0: First if all establish some credibility on this site before you comment. Stupid ass noobs on this site shouldn't even bother posting if they have nothing to add to the article.

Seriously go sidebust somewhere else.

Dudemans right. He and I have history. Repoire. We enjoy the back and forth debating. In other words GTFO if you take what we say serious or are offended.

HFG. Well.. Well.. isn't that nice. But still, that doesn't beat out the Custom in game Soundrack feature. If the PS3 Had this feature it would be way kool. That way we wouldn't have to worry about the music in some of these games. Just access our own library of music & keep on trucking. BTW this feature is STANDARD in X360 since day 1.

custom soundtracks is a feature i've never cared about or will ever use in any game. could care less.
Written by Jagosix on 2008/03/27

HFG. @ Dudeman - Wow you've never cared about music in a game? I find that very hard to believe. Well I'll bet there are a lot more people that would love this feature than those of you that don't.

Jagosix: Dudeman gave the typical jealousy ridden response. I remember PS3 fanboys sating the same thing about rumble. Then the DS3 was announced and they all orgasmed...

In game sound track is a cool feature that has been available since last generation. I wonder when Sony will finally join the next generation. They are playing catchup in alot of area's. Blu-Ray doesn't count. I like HD movies, but not at the cost of more important gaming related features...
Written by dudeman on 2008/03/27

I care about in-game music, but not custom soundtracks. For example while i'm lopping off heads and limbs in Viking:Battle for Asgard i don't want to be listening to Sex Pistols. ya know?

I very well may be in the minority on this...
Written by PimpDaddy on 2008/03/27

dudeman: Nah. I don't really bother with custom in game sound either. It's just a nice option to have in case I ever did want to change things up. It's cool. I actually believe that you don't care about the feature. Because I dont care either :p
Written by dudeman on 2008/03/27

I agree it is a nice option and dare i say that we ps3 owners will have this feature in the near future? I know....i'm setting my self up there..
Written by PimpDaddy on 2008/03/27

dudeman: Settin yourself up for some "Wait Beyond" jokes????? You??? Never...

Did you see how you set yourself up in the Killzone thread??? Damn I'm good :p
