	Well, this is certain to cause a serious amount of controversy. IGN has given their first 10/10 review since Soul Calibur on the good old Dreamcast back in 1999. Holy cow.. IGN did this for one reason.. pure controversy since gamespot and 1up been stealing all the rumor mongering and chit chat lately!

Time to get my fanboy on. Meanwhile 360 owners will enjoy the "complete" version of GTA4 as we have 2 exclusive episodes to look forward too. Playing on Xbox Live with achievements and actually being able to eaisly join our friends games and communicate with them in game on the best integrated console gamingonline service will make up for any "minor" graphical shortcomings.

If you own both consoles read this. If you want the version with the best graphics buy the PS3 version. If you want the best online version, with in game custom sound, force feedback that doesnt require you to replace your 6-axis controller, achievements, and exclusive "Episodic content", then get the 360 version.

The reasons I listed for the 360 version being better trump a few jaggies and some minor pop-in. Not to mention the 360 version has better color. Anytime you go multiplatform the 360 is the way to go.

That being said both versions got 10's so for on IGN. IGN is very reputable. So I think it's safe to say that both PS3 and 360 owners that want some GTA4 are going to be very happy no matter which version they own. 3 more days fella's. Hit me up if you have a Live account and are getting this game. Have a good weekend everyone.

Actually the HDD's is one of my beefs with Microsoft. I wish Microsoft had done what Sony did and not only made a HDD standard, but allowed us to install whatever 3rd party HDD we wanted. Instead we are stuck with thier some what proprietary HDD design. Not to mention the outrageous prices of the 20GB HDD for $99.00 and the 120GB HDD for $179.00.

I know I dog Sony alot on this forum, but it's justified. Forcing Blu-Ray, overhyping Cell and the PS3's graphical prowess. That ridiculous launch price tag along with thier obviously poor imitation of Live with PSN, and removing force feedback only to add it later and charge for it is my beef with Sony this generation.

As for Microsoft they obviously failed somewhere with the hardware design testing. Even though I haven't personally experienced RROD, it's real, and it sucks for those who have gotten it. They need to fix the DPAD on the controller. The above mentioned HDD issue, and they whould have included wifi. I mean even the Wii has Wifi. Why not put HDMI 1.3 instead of HDMI 1.2???

Oh and since I'm ranting yes they are gouging us with the wifi adapter price, play and charge kit, and other accessories. However at least those items are optional, and not necessary to playing videogames.

Oh well I guess thats why it's necessary to go PS360 this generation. Damn I can't beleive I just said that. Now I have to go set myself on fire...

seems pretty good to me. anyways, as a PSwii60 owner, I'm going with the 360 version. The DLC is just too much to pass up.

I have to agree with GR and say that GTA4 is NOT a 10. I haven't played enough to give a full review but a few things bother be so far.

(1) Cars handle pretty shaky IMO... Not horrible but not great.

(2) If you don't run "Niko" walks slow as hell.

(3) No regenerative health SUCKS. Not having regenerative health in GTA is fucking stupid if you ask me.

I only played for about a half hour and the only way i seen to replenish your health was a "Hot Dog Stand"....LOL.

I expect an out cry for a update on the health issue. On the up side... I did a few mission and the story seems awesome so far. I'd give it a 8.5/10 right now.

Serious jb33 your absolutley right ! i never like GTAIV, or any other series, but GTAIV is different it looks promising, as much as i hate older version, i never got borred, when i got to my friend house and get drunk and high and play GTA, it has tons of replay and its even funnier when your friends play, i mean the game has lot of things you can do,

One of my favourite is when I put the camera mode in TV style and drive around,

Its hard and its also looks funny cause you look like a drunk driver and driving over ppl and so on,

try it because you never drive straigh since the camera is in different angle...

look instead of making the biggest city and do a decent storyline with mission, why not reduce the city and the make bigger AI and bigger mission with tons of storyline, that would be amazing but more ppl like bigger city then the gameplay of the AI itself...

So really i would give maybe 9.0 - 9.3

just because everyting is perfect except AI always end up being sucks or little good...

People have different opinions... I'm sure some people will think it deserves a 1/10, others a 10/10. GameSpot gave GoW a 9.6... I personally thought it was a 5/10 game.

I hate Gears Of War because its not on PS3 :p, but when I played on X360, I would give 10 but because the controller is not my style i would give maybe 9.8.

= Interesting Observations =

(1) Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the Grand Theft Auto 4 are rated with a score of "10 out of 10" for Graphics, yet the review lists problems that occur in both versions. For example, IGN makes it clear that there are framerate problems that happen in both versions. Clearly, the game is not worthy of a score of 10 out of 10 for graphics in the same way that a game like Gears of War was when it was released.

(2) The editors of IGN agree that there are fundamental problems with the way the game plays, including unreliable controls and cover problems.

(3) The editors of IGN use very PERSONAL disclaimers when they talk about the flaws in Grand Theft Auto 4. They say things like, "I can overlook these problems because the game runs better than 'I' expected."

And they say things like, "I can forgive framerate issues and aliasing problems."

...Well, IGN editor Hillary Goldstein, I and millions of others CANNOT forgive those problems! And the game OBVIOUSLY does NOT deserve a 10!

People all over the Internet (including the games legendary developer) recently said that Metal Gear Solid 4 was a disappointment because MGS4 had low-resolution textures and aliasing problems. So, why is it that Hillary Goldstein of IGN is allowed to give a game a 10 out of 10 because "she" doesn't mind graphic and gameplay flaws.

(4) I personally think that the reason why GTA4 received a 10 out of 10 is because Microsoft paid $50 millon dollars for exclusive content in this game, and they KNOW that there is a LOT riding on this game.

Similarly, Sony is including all sorts of package deals in countries overseas, so they also have a lot riding on the success of Grand Theft Auto 4.

It would NOT surprise me if some of those editors of larger websites and magazines have been paid off to rate the game a 10 out of 10.

That's why I'm waiting to see what the smaller websites have to say before I consider buying Grand Theft Auto 4.

After all, the "normal" people who have played Grand Theft Auto 4 say that the game is NOT worthy of a score of 10 out of 10. In fact, most people say that they wouldn't even grade it an "A."

(5) And did you see the shameless "plug" that IGN gave for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto 4. When they asked "which version should you buy," the answer was focused ONLY on the Online aspect of the game, which meant that they recommended the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto 4 to literally 80% of consumers, since there are more Xbox 360 "friends" to play with.

(6) I also think it was irresponsible of IGN to avoid mentioning that the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto 4 includes Achievement points not found in the Playstation 3 version.

(7) Finally, IGN didn't place nearly enough importance on the fact that Microsoft paid $50 million for two exclusive episodes that will be available for download. Each episode will add 10 hours of gameplay, which means that the Xbox 360 verson of Grand Theft Auto truly is the "Complete" version of the game.

...Nevertheless, I'm not buying Grand Theft Auto 4 until I see what the smaller websites have to say, or until I have a chance to play it for myself. Any game with a messed up cover system and unreliable controls needs to be played before being purchased...that is FOR SURE!!!

If you listen to the IGN GTA IV podcast below, you'll notice that Hilary Goldstein reveals that the person claiming the ps3 version is superior, is none other than IGN PS3 Editor Chris Roper. Immediatly following that, one of them makes the remark that the 360 version looks like it is running in a higher resolution.
