	According to the recent net rumors, SCE was having epilepsy issues with Wipeout HD, and that was the "specific technical issue" that was preventing release. Well Sony has officially responded, and stated that the trophy supprot and split screen play are the issues causing the delay. They claim the game will be with us "very soon." "Regarding the speculation about health issues, we can assure you that we take consumer safety very seriously and monitor it very carefully." >Link

Split screen is good news...At least it's actually being added and not promised in a future update. I still don't understand why this game is taking so long to be released though. Typical Sony Wait Station i guess... Split screen seems to be becoming a lost art with internet gaming on the rise. Not enough games support split screen anymore. COD4 is one game i always wished had online split screen.

@Jb33 your right, the more I play online gaming the easier it is for me to kick my friends out my house when they ask to play together, I tell them go home and get online & JUMP IN B!TCH. I'm so used to have the whole screen to myself and split screen just make things smaller and harder to see. Its 2008 get your own screen.

@B1ueBurneR...Your right...lol. Nobody cares about split screen anymore. People might not care for the feature in this game, but i look at it like we're lucky to get such a feature from Sony. It doesn't matter that it's 2008 either. Anytime a decent multiplayer game is released there's an outcry for this feature that developers seem to leave out nowadays.

Your a rare breed if you don't like to play certain games online in split screen mode. Certain games are much funner to play with a friend online. Halo is one of them games...It's 10x more fun to own with a friend split screen in Halo. Not everyone likes to sit alone in a dark room by them selves and play video games all the time.

This is good news that Sony is adding split screen, but it seems to me that their also covering something up. My guess would be that the game simply isn't ready like all the rest of Sony's games, but who knows.

I sit in the dark with some random girls to playing video games after sex bcuz I don't want to have a conversation with her about getting to know the person she is or the person inside of her, when I already know the person inside of her.. which was me. You are right some games are much better to play with a friend in split screen like racing games like this one. But its waaay much better to have your own screen Some people would go as far as hooking up 2 tvs 2 consoles and Online play eliminates that. Games like Fight Night 3 I don't mind playing with a friend because there is not split screen or distractions.

I prefer full screen most of the time to, but i also like to play with/against friends sometimes. Certain games like racing/fighting/shooter games are funner IMO to play with a friend sometimes. I just think developers should add the feature more often, so you can at least have the option of playing split screen.

I'm off to play Fight night 3 since you mentioned it. I haven't played FN3 in over a year. I used to ruin people with Muhammad Ali in FN. I thought Prize Fighter was gonna be the next FN, but man was i wrong...lol. That game F@CK!N SUCKS!!!!

Jb33, its taking a long time cause its 1080 resolution, thats why most developers hasn't made any games in the past for that resolution, now they are starting to make games for that resolution...

I'm not sure if you even know how game developers works..

I see you're working the Spin angle like a true SSD (Sony Spin Doctor) If you have the 360 with HDMI don't all games come in 1080p (unscaled). I'm sorry VagTiger but the big difference between the xbots and SDF, if that we are not used to waiting as much as you guys are.. my bad. go back to spinning. @Planet blacktiger...Believe me...lol. I know about how game development works. Games not supporting split screen because of 1080 i/p is true to an extent. This seems to be Sony's excuse because they can't even get games to run at 1080 i/p upscaled,let alone natively support them resolutions. Most good online games don't even support that resolution natively anyway.

Sure, when you turn your 360/PS3 on it says 1080 i/p, but that doesn't necessarily mean thats the resolution the game supports. Halo 3 and COD4 are good examples of this. It comes down to if developers planned the game around including split screen or not. Graphics will suffer and so will the frame rate, but it depends on if they want dumb down the game to include such a feature. Gears Of War is one of the best looking games to date and it has online split screen, so resolution and HD graphics are no excuse.

IMHO Not including this feature is developer laziness and substituting online for split screen mode.

On Topic: The reason they Sony is having issues with Wipeout is because the PS3 doesn't have enough RAM. Just like the 360. Thats why 1080P games this generation are rare, and they require that you make huge sacrifices as a developer to get the game to run at that resolution. Then to top it all off they want to include split screen? Ya this has W A I T B 3 Y O N D written all over it.

@ManGina-dude, I could watch a movie on my 360 and still receive messages,friend request, game invites, and notified when a friend logs on. Man-gina does your system of choice provide those features ?

I don't use my ps3 as a bluray player, but yes i can receive messages, invites, friend requests, notifications, etc all while i'm playing a game.

dudeman: There are many links all over the internet describing the reason that niether the 360 or PS3 which have similar performing GPU's struggle with 1080P resolution. It has to with the limited RAM that each has. I am saying "BOTH" consoles are really designed for 720P as far as games are concerned. 1080P can be achieved but with huge sacrifices. You might see racing games, Super Rub A Dub type PSN/Xbox Live games, Sports games, etc that don't require as much being displayed on the discreen all at once to be in 1080P. But a game such as MGS4, RFOM, KZ2, COD4, etc... will run at 720P due to the shortcomings/bottlenecks in the hardware for both the 360 and PS3.

I also have the option to hookup to a wireless network and watch Hidef Bluray movies on my gaming console without the need for any addition addons. Does your console have that capability B1ue?

I gave my reason as speculation. I mean how many games are truly in 1080P resolution natively for either console. Most are below whatever resolution they claim such as Halo 3, COD4, PGR3, Lair, Super Rub A Dub, GTA4, etc... It's why I bash Sony for hyping 1080P games at 60fps...
