Microsoft has stated that according to numbers, the Xbox360 version of GTA IV is outselling the PS3 edition in the US. Of course, Sony questions these findings. MS is basing this on retailer word of mouth at this point, we do not have any concrete numbers yet.

A mysteroius timer has appeared on the official website for Grand Theft Auto 2. Yes, the website of the ten-year-old game. The counter is not really going up nor down, but May 22 seems to be clearly displayed underneath. The speculation is that the long-rumored Live and PSN Arcade version of GTA & GTA2 is ready to go. Now would be the ideal time for Rockstar to re-release the games in order to cash in on the GTAIV hype. Rumor mill for now, but stay tuned.

More GTAIV news, what a surprise! We told you to be prepared. ChartTrack data is now showing that GTAIV is the UK's top selling game of all time in a 24 hour period. The total hit a whopping 609,000 for the one-day span. This beats the previous record of 501,000 set by GTA: SA. Xbox360 copies sold slightly edged out the PS3 copies sold with the total of 335,000 to 274,000. The figure also is an Xbox360 one-day record, beating Halo 3's first day sales, which were recorded at 266,000. We are sure this is just the first of many records to be broken.

Well, it has begun. The anti-GTA sect is going to have a field day with this one. Apparently, Richard Fiel, some 27 year old jackass, decided to rob a Gamestop for a PS3, GTA, GTAIII, and GTAIV. He then led police on a short chase before surrendering from inside a Japanese restaurant. This can only lead to more controversy over the violence level in the game. Way to go, Dick!

Those of you who are not gaga over GTAIV are going to have to bite the bullet over the next few days. We have a feeling that the news is going to be filled with GTAIV stories for a bit. To that end, Rockstar has released a statement regarding the GTAIV freezing issue on the PS3. The solution? Erase all the GTAIV game data on the PS3 and reinstall and start from scratch. Fun.

A Fox News affiliate recently published a story which scrutinized the placement of GTA IV ads on Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) buses.
