If you are one of those people who hates when they have to search to find where to go and what to do next, then you will love Gun. The mini-map pretty much all but warps you to the place the next story event or side mission, it shows on the map with a big red X and a highlight. Even the most non-directionally inclined of you will be able to find the next location in this game. Well, let’s go to the mode by mode.

There are 3 choices on the main menu of this game. New game, load game, and options. When you start a new game you can pick from four difficulty levels: easy, normal, hard, and insane. If you choose insane be prepared to do just that – go insane. If normal is annoying, and hard is ridiculous, insane is three times as bad. In the options menu you can toggle the HUD, the targeting reticle, and the subtitles. You can adjust the brightness as well, if you are so inclined. You can also adjust the music and sound effect volume, as per usual. In the controller options you can turn the vibration on and off, invert both axes of the control pad, and adjust the sensitivity slider. Really no surprises here.

Is this game worth owning? Frankly, no. It is a good game, and it is worth playing, but you will be able to finish it in one weekend, we finished it in 7 hours and we completed most side missions. Just to add, in case you did not figure it out, this game has no online options at all other than adding to your Gamescore on XBox360 Live (I am a Gamescwhore). This is a good first attempt from a company that has only produced one game franchise for the last seven years. The Xbox360 version does not offer much more in the way of looks than the Xbox version, and it certainly is not “next gen.” If you like westerns, and you want to play a good game to kill a day or two, then Gun is for you.
