	Sony's PSN director of operations Eric Lempel told Next-Gen that we should expect fewer, but more significant firmware updates for the PS3. "Many of our upgrades have offered tremendous value to our users so I think they appreciate getting these new features as soon as they are ready," Sounds promising, let's hope it holds true. >Link

kinda like xbox360 seasonal updates

Hopefully this turns out to be true because Sony's updates take a RIDICULOUS amount of time to download and install for some reason.

The 360's updates take 1 minute at the most and Sony's take anywhere between 15 and 45 minutes to install. It's pretty weird....

15 - 45 minutes??? I've never had that problem. Strange.

I've NEVER had a PS3 system update that didn't take at least 15 minutes to DL and install. The game updates are the same way....I did a update for Motorstom before that took at least 30 minutes. The weird thing is that when i'm downloading demos and videos from PSN it seems to be a little faster than XBL.
