I'm not even intersted in Blue Ray movie, even though I have High Definition, wow not only sony knows what they are doing, its more like thats what Consumers want !

Just read the link and it's one f*cking company claiming that they are selling more Blu-Ray "players" than they did DVD "players" at the start. Wow by 4. The number is a staggering 21 - 17 in favor of Blu-Ray. LMAO.

Nowhere in the article does it show what truly matters. Disc sales. I just owned Dudeman in flamingwars so you guys can check out what I showed him with links. It took 2 years for Blu-Ray to sell 11 million movies with it's combined install base of standalone and PS3's in the US. DVD sold 14 million movies in 1 year and that was with an install base of only 1 million DVD players. And back in 1997 you couldn't buy a videogame console with DVD built in.

So it proves that people aren't adopting Blu-Ray the way they adopted DVD. Not even close. How many people do we all know who replaced thier VHS collection with DVD movies??? I know I did. it made sense. DVD was a "huge" leap from VHS. Blu-Ray isn't a huge leap from DVD, and you need a new HDTV just to use it. I promise you that the people who buy Blu-Ray movies right now aren't going to replace thier DVD collection. Instead they will buy new releases which studies show Blu-Ray averages between 5%-10% of all "newly release" home movie sales. People aren't buying standalone Blu-Ray players like they did DVD. In fact if it wasn't for the PS3 and it's 13 million install base worldwide Blu-Ray wouldn't even have a consumer base to sell to.

2 years SDF. They just killed HD-DVD a few months back. Yet it's DVD that will keep Blu-Ray from ever gaining a dominant peice of marketshare in Home movies.

Pimp you are truly owning yourself at this point. everyone else is just watching.

Dudeman: Read the title of the article. "BluRay Adoption Rate Outpaces DVD". How am I owning myself. You can't prove that Blu-Ray is doing better than DVD did in it's first year. First 2 years. etc... I have made very valid points. Yet you have no comeback. nothing. Zero. Zilch. Nadda.

Then BlackTiger makes an ignorant statement saying Blu-Ray is what the consumer wants. No Blu-Ray is what Sony want's us to buy because they don't get royalties from the sales of DVD movies unless it's one of thier own movie studios.

Stop your anti-Sony crusade already.

My main income comes from being a Computer Consultant for small to medium sized businesses. The average consumer can barely use a computer, let alone knows much about broadband, HD, Blu-Ray, or knows that the PS3 and 360 need HDTV's to display HD graphics. And yet according to BlackTiger Blu-Ray is what the consumer wants.

Bottom line is the that the only people who care about Blu-Ray are PS3 owners who were misled to believe that Blu-Ray was necessary for games this generation, and tech junkies such as myself that are always wanting the best audio/video experince they can get.

Your talking to someone who invested $7,000.00 into putting a good stereo system into his SUV.

For the record my wife and I were one of the 14 million Blu-Ray players in homes. We did purchase a "single" Blu-Ray movie. It was 300. Which I still own if anybody wants to buy it. I also have the 5 free Blu-Ray movies that were being promoted last August. Stealth. Pearl Harbor. Blazing Saddles. The Italian Job. And I forget the other one. My brother is borrowing them right now because he still hasn't recieved his 5 free movies. They may even be unopened.

You used to be entertaining on this site and flamingwars, but i'm not sure what happened. Also you don't see me on EVERY 360 news section spreading FUD, however you show up on EVERY ps3/bluray news article on this site. It gets annoying

If your annoyed just think about how people feel when you and BlackTiger tagteam 360 articles. Remember how you made a big deal about DLC being delayed for the 360 as if it was the actual GTA4 game being delayed.

actually i sold my 360 two weeks ago to someone here at work. Kinda of sad to see it go, but it was cramping my style as a ps3 fanboy. lol

I did get to play the BF Demo this past Sunday. I was pretty impressed with the multiplayer, though i didn't get a chance to try out the singleplayer. I need another FPS so i might just pick it up .

Dudeman: Ya I'm gonna pick up Battlefield. It's been a while since I found a fps that I didn't suck at... Multiplayer was fun. I snuck up on 3 guys and mowed thier a$$es down just now as they were hitting our base, thought I was bad till a sniper under perfect Camo cover jumped out at me and knifed my cocky a$$. Still any game where I can be in the upper half of the leader board is a good game.

Did you guys see the video of MGS4, where Otacon tells Solid Snake to look for second disc labled as Disc 2, and then he realize its a blu ray disc not Dual layer disc !!!!
