Team Ico Working On Sequel >
2007/10/04 11:08:41: Posted by DM
The Team Ico blog operators basically stalked the OPM staff until they published one of their letters requesting more info on any new Team Ico info. Well, they published one of the letters, and here's what the response was:

Them[OPM]: "We asked Sony boss Kaz Hirai what was going on with Team ICO a couple of months back. As he was pleading ignorance, one of the other execs present blurted out. "I'm pretty sure they're doing the sequel." Our fearless reporter immediately asked. "What, the sequel to ICO or Shadow of the Colossus?" Then the room filled with knockout gas...

It was fairly common sense, but it is still great to hear. Shadow of the Colossus was fantastic.

1st......

A sequel to either of those games would be sweet, lets hope Sony knows this cause they need it.

Sony...working on a sequel...no kidding!!!

How about making a Real-Time Strategy game for the Playstation 3.

There are ZERO games in the Real-Time Strategy genre for the Playstation 3...and there are ZERO planned!!!

Xbox 360 currently has THREE Real-Time Strategy games available, including my favorite Command & Conquer 3, and there are FIVE more in development, including Halo Wars.

Sony, before worrying about sequels to games, or putting multiple runners on the same base, please make sure that all the bases are covered!

Sticky: No I didnt play those games. Although I did own the PS1 and PS2. I also have never played any of the MGS games either. This is an honest question. What are those 2 games about. What makes them 2 of the best games ever? I am going to repurchase a cheaper 40GB PS3 next spring. I miss Warhawk. Plus my wife is pissed that we dont have Blu-Ray anymore. Not like she knew what it was till we saw the comparison demo with Blu-Ray/DVD at Circuit City.

Krogan, you can take your shitty RTS games and shove them up your 360 fanboy ass. Ico was one of the best games for the PS2, and Shadow of the Colossus was one of the best games of the last generation. The sequel will no doubt be a great hit. Team ICO can do it.

Pimp, they are awesome games. The idea is very simple. With ICO, you're trapped in a weird secluded place and need to find your way out. On the way you save a young girl who was attacked by evil beings and now you'll have to protect her along the way.

In SOTC, your love is dead and you bring her to a ruin where you hope some God will save her. You have to follow his orders by killing off the Colossus.

What make these games special is the how simple they are and how brilliant they play.

Itaintrite: Thanks for the ICO info. What about Shadow??? Also although Krogan is my friend, I prefer KB and mouse support for RTS games. Your talking to someone who still plays Warcraft III on the PC. So I could care less if the PS3 or 360 has RTS games right now. However I wonder if that messaging pad for the 360 will come into play on games, and I wonder if people actually like using a mouse and KB in thier living room??? Whats your opinion???

Ok I saw the Shadow reference above. Thanks. I would personally like to thank God for Gamefly. No more purchases of SH!TTY Games. To me a game "must" have replay value to be purchased. I am always willing to try any game out though...

Replay value... well, then ICO is a definite rent. It's only a few hours short. SOTC is a bit better since you can fight any of Colossus again on a harder level.

I believe people WILL use KB/Mouse in their living room if given the choice, especially the PS3 since you can use that to browse the internet as well so it's not so wasted, not that KB/mouse are that expensive.

also when u install linux on ur ps3 it means u have a fully blown computer, infact i download warez on my ps3 for the 360 then transfer them to my windows machine to burn. if i can find an external dvd burner that will work with ubuntu i could use my ps3 to pirate 360 games without the need for a pc wink.gif wont be long.

Ico and SOTC are incredible games! Haven't completed SOTC yet, but I did complete Ico.

SOTC was pretty simple to beat. Once you get the hang of figuring out their weaknesses and climb up there, it's just a matter of looking for those gad damn things. Very fun! Ive always thought SOTC was ahead of its time. Should've been a PS3 title. I would definitely pay $60 for a SOTC with better framerate and nothing else!

bothn were good games, a sequel to either is an asset to the ps3
